What Bobby Calendar is, who it is for, and the promise every asset has to keep.
Overview
Bobby Calendar is an intuitive calendar, availability, appointment and booking platform for individuals, teams, locations, service businesses and the wider Bobby Network. It is designed to be simpler and more understandable than the scheduling tools people use today, while growing into broader scheduling infrastructure.
The problem
Meeting-link tools stop at the meeting. Business booking systems stop at one industry. Shared calendars leak private time. People end up running availability in three places and trusting none of them.
Positioning
One scheduling layer for a person's private time, a team's shared time and a business's bookable capacity — people, rooms, chairs and bays alike — with visibility decided per calendar.
Differentiation
Resource-aware scheduling, per-calendar visibility that fails closed, API-first design, Bobby Network interoperability, and a planned AI assistant that escalates instead of improvising.

Naming, capitalisation and the Bobby Network
- Always “Bobby Calendar”, both words capitalised. Never “BobbyCalendar”, “Bobby calendar” or “BC”.
- Never abbreviate the product name in customer-facing copy. The compact lockup exists for that purpose.
- Product family: Bobby Network, alongside Bobby Circle, Bobby Car Wash, Bobby Salon, Bobby Talk, Bobby ID and Bobby Credits.
- Legal operator is written exactly “TorosRicos OÜ” — one word, no space, with the Estonian Ü.
- In co-branded lockups the Bobby Calendar mark leads, separated by a hairline rule at one clear-space width.

Imagery, illustration and calendar-UI direction
- Flat vector illustration only, drawn from red, ink, white and the two greys. No gradients, no glows, no drop shadows beyond a 1 px hairline.
- Photography, where used, is real working environments with natural light — a salon chair, a wash bay, a desk — never staged handshake stock.
- Icons: 1.75 px stroke at 24 px, square caps softened to round joins, no filled duotone.
- Calendar UI: hairline grid in Line Grey, ink blocks for internal time, red blocks for customer bookings, tinted blocks for open availability. Time labels always mono.
- Data visualisation: one red series, one ink series, greys for context. Never encode meaning in red alone — pair it with a label or pattern.
- Accessibility: 4.5:1 minimum for body text, 3:1 for large text and UI boundaries, visible 3 px focus ring in Signal Red, and never colour as the sole status signal.
Held Time — the canonical concept
Why the approved mark looks the way it does, and the rules that keep it legible from a billboard down to a 16 px favicon.
What the symbol says
A held band inside an open frame: time that has been claimed, sitting inside time that is still available. The frame is the day, the band is the commitment, the two dots are the people either side of it.
Why it was approved
It reads as a calendar without drawing a calendar, it survives at 16 px where a grid collapses to mud, and it carries the brand promise — you can see what is held and what is open at a glance.
How it behaves
Above 48 px the master symbol shows the full frame, band and dots. At and below 32 px the micro symbol takes over: a solid plate, a single white band and two dots, engineered so it never reduces to a generic dash.
Never
Never redraw the band as a tick, arrow or clock hand. Never rotate the frame. Never add a third dot, a shadow or a gradient of any kind.
Tone of voice
Calm, precise, and never overselling an unbuilt feature. Six principles, a measurable rhythm, per-surface guidance and worked rewrites.
Plain before clever
Say the thing. If a sentence needs a second read to be understood, rewrite it. Scheduling copy is read while someone is busy, on a phone, between two other tasks.
Concrete over abstract
Name the day, the time, the time zone, the person and the price. Avoid “seamless”, “effortless”, “powerful”, “next-generation” and every other word that describes nothing.
Truthful about status
Bobby Calendar is in development. Anything not built is labelled planned, in development or roadmap in the same sentence — never in a footnote, never in smaller type.
Private by instinct
Never imply a calendar is more visible than it is. When copy touches visibility, it states who can see what, and defaults to the closed reading.
Calm under failure
Errors state what happened, what it means and the one action available. No apology inflation, no blame, no exclamation marks.
Respectful of other people's time
Customer-facing messages are short enough to read in a notification preview. Reminders lead with the time, not with the brand.
Rhythm, grammar and formatting
- Sentences average 12–18 words. One idea each. Full stops instead of semicolons.
- Headlines: 3–7 words, sentence case, no trailing punctuation except a full stop when it reads as a statement.
- Buttons: verb first, two or three words, no “now”, no “!”.
- Body: second person singular (“you”), active voice, present tense.
- British English spelling, Oxford comma avoided unless it removes ambiguity.
- Dates written “Thursday 17 September”, times “09:30–10:15”, always with the time zone abbreviation on customer-facing surfaces.
- Numbers: figures for anything countable, mono type for times, durations, prices, quantities and identifiers.
- Prices always show the currency and the interval: “€9.99 / month”. VAT status stated once per surface.

- Say what the product does, then what it does not do.
- Use the reader's word, not the internal word: 'booking', not 'reservation object'.
- Numbers, dates and times are set in the mono face with tabular figures.
- Sentence case everywhere except the product name.
- No exclamation marks in product UI. One is allowed, at most, in campaign copy.
- Inclusive, gender-neutral language. 'They' for an unknown person.
- Never claim an unbuilt capability in the present tense.
Terminology
Approved words for accounts, workspaces, calendars, availability, bookings, services, resources, seats, integrations, AI and MCP.
- Private Account
- The person's own account. Identity, security, preferences and attached billing accounts live under /account.
- Private Workspace
- Created automatically, exactly one per person. Cannot be converted into a business workspace.
- Private Calendar
- The calendar inside the Private Workspace. Never public unless the person explicitly enables it.
- Workspace
- A container for a business, team, organisation, location or Bobby Network product. Holds members, calendars, resources, integrations and billing.
- Calendar
- Has its own availability, time zone, booking rules, services/event types, members, resources and visibility mode.
- Availability
- Working hours, holidays, exceptions, blocked periods, buffers and limits attached to one calendar.
- Booking
- A confirmed appointment, meeting, activity or service occurrence on a calendar.
- Booking type
- A bookable definition: duration, capacity, questions, policy and resources. Not called an 'event type' in customer copy.
- Service
- A business-facing bookable offering, such as a treatment, wash programme or consultation.
- Resource
- Anything bookable that is not a person: room, chair, wash bay, equipment, location.
- Active seat
- A member who manages availability or receives bookings. Read-only, reception, billing and auditor roles are not automatically seats.
- Billing mode
- One of workspace_paid, user_sponsored, network_internal or free.
- Integration
- Platform-owned provider configuration, or workspace-owned credentials that override an allowed provider.
- AI Calendar
- The planned assistant layer over a calendar. Always authorised, auditable and escalating. Paid with Bobby Credits.
- MCP
- Planned natural-language control surface, scheduled last, after the core calendar, permissions, API and audit model are stable.
Visibility wording
- Public:
- Reachable and discoverable through its public booking URL, subject to workspace policy.
- Unlisted link:
- Only people with the link can reach it. Excluded from indexing and public discovery.
- Embed / API only:
- No standalone public page. Booking runs through approved embeds, Bobby products or API clients.
- Private:
- No public page, no public booking, no public API exposure.
Avoid: “event type” (use booking type), “user” in customer copy (use person or member), “AI agent” (use AI scheduling assistant), “unlimited AI”, “fully automatic”, “guaranteed”.
Colour
Flat red, white and black with minimal neutral support. No gradients anywhere — logos, backgrounds, buttons, icons, charts, overlays or social assets.
